2008-10-06 Replisaurus appoints Mike Thompson as COO Replisaurus Technologies has appointed Mike Thompson, former deputy chief technology officer for STMicroelectronics NV, as chief operating officer.
Thompson will be based at the Replisaurus facility in Saint Jeoire, France, where he will manage the development of the fully integrated ECPR equipment line, as well as extension and enhancement of the high-accuracy chip-to-chip and chip-to-wafer bonding products developed by S.E.T. Smart Equipment Technology, which was recently acquired by Replisaurus.
Thompson has 17 years experience working at STMicroelectronics Crolles, France, operation, and has overseen the lab-to-fab evolution of dozens of processes and materials. Most recently, Thompson was the deputy CTO of STMicroelectronics, with responsibility for CMOS R&D, covering design and process technology and the Crolles 200-mm and 300-mm operations. Prior to this, Thompson also helped establish the Crolles2 Derivatives Technology Alliance in Crolles.
"There are many promising technologies in the semiconductor world today, but ECPR represents a genuine insight, and has to be at the top of anyone's list. The Replisaurus technology has legs, it addresses both technical and economic issues in one clean package, and I expect it to be warmly received," says Thompson in a press release.
